| I'm taking my inspiration from Phil |
[Jun. 2nd, 2007|09:00 pm] |
Wow, this the first tiome I wrote in this journal in long time. My last dated entry into this thing not counting my facebook notes was sometime in July 2006. A lot has happened to me over the past year. First off I truly say that Temple has become my second home, I always seem increrasing my time here. Thankfully its not courses, but I am now woreking here and by living in UV(University Village) for non-Temple folk, I able to be on campus anytime during the day. I can't believe that next year I will be Senior. I must say that my Junior year has been so many blessings that its hard to keep track the important ones, cause each is so important in its own right. First off this year alone I've grown so much as a leader, that I can truly say I am a leader through and trhrough. I've had leadership potential in me all along, its just in the past I've always been so doubtful of that I always assumed that I was just a follower and anything I did was never enough to do anything, but this year helped realize that was not true to the fullest extent, it started mainfesting itself a bit last year, but this year in particularily is when hit me hard and started coming full circle. My invlovement was to ... degree I don't know even what number to type since I so involved with Temple already. If I can say anything, I definitely owe thank yous to the Newman Center TSG Student Life, Diversity Affairs, the PHDS and LEADERSHAPE without one I would be nothing. My invlovement in them is beyond anything postional, it is now way more than that, it is deeply personal, these are definitely places I will keep in contact with even after I graduate, I seriously don't know what I would do without them. Recently I just turned 21, got a job working for Temple's Summmer Conference Program, got an Internship, and I am going to the beach with my family. I just feel so bleesed that all these opportunities came my way and I still haven't graduated yet. I can't forget the greatest blessing that Temple gave me, the chance to live in Peabody cause that is where I started. So from the bottom of my heart I would like to say thnak you to everyone who have my time here at Temple so valuable, percious, and amazing that the memories I have made will be able to last forever. My vision for Temple and hopefully the entire world is one where there is no apathy wahtsoever because apathty is one major factor that is causing pur problems today. Think about it, if people were less apathetic, people would ha causes to fight for and things would get done to make people aware and action. My advice to anyone is this, a vision is not a reality unless there is love behind, cause that love can transform your vision into something great. To quote TLC Waterfalls: I seen a rainbow yesterday But too many storms have come and gone Leavin' a trace of not one God - given ray Is it because my life is ten shades of gray I pray all ten fade away Seldom praise Him for the sunny days And like His promise is true Only my faith can undo The many chances I blew To bring my life to anew Clear blue and unconditional skies Have dried the tears from my eyes No more lonely cries My only bleedin' hope Is for the folk who can't cope Wit such an endurin' pain That it keeps 'em in the pourin' rain Who's to blame For tootin' caine in your own vein What a shame You shoot and aim for someone else's brain You claim the insane And name this day in time For fallin' prey to crime I say the system got you victim to your own mind Dreams are hopeless aspirations In hopes of comin' true Believe in yourself The rest is up to me and you
What Lefteye rap basically is saying that even though life may get you down at times, do not under whatevber circumsatnces, let it beat you cause you have the power to make change. Even it is small, that change is seed in something bigger that will grow unless you make grow by getting others involved. So implore anyone not to take life granted and do not any little setbacks get you down because you can succeed and even though you'll have a reward at the end, remember the journey is also very important cause that is where you grow and realize the strengths you never knew you had and it also rewakens some that you had within that you doubted that you use. In short Capatin Planet said it best: "The Power is Yours" |

| How Suddenly Life Changes |
[Jan. 30th, 2006|07:11 pm] |
Today, I just heard that a friend of mine who I have known for seven years has been killed in a car accident. I have known this guy since I moved to West Chester PA. He graduated High School just last year , was going to community college, butas soon as he raised his grades wanted to go the University of West Virginia. Now that dream will never be realized. I've lost loved ones before, before this the first time sometime I felt close to has died. I don't know how to react. It seems like death not only affects the one it happens to, but those connected to the person as well. Before this happened I was just getting back into the swing of things at Temple and I had all of these great things planned. Now a screw has been thrown in and now it feels like everything is messed up and I don't know what to do. Condolsences will greatly appreciated and just keep my friend in your prayers and remember to cherish everyday of your life because you don't know what day might be your last.
Apporiate Song lyrics:
Natalie Grant - "Held"
Two months is too little They let him go They had no sudden healing To think that providence would Take a child from his mother while she prays Is appalling
Who told us we’d be rescued? What has changed and why should we be saved from nightmares? We’re asking why this happens To us who have died to live? It’s unfair
Chorus: This is what it means to be held How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life And you survive This is what it is to be loved And to know that the promise was When everything fell we’d be held
This hand is bitterness We want to taste it, let the hatred NUMB our sorrow The wise hands opens slowly to lilies of the valley and tomorrow
(Chorus) ... This is what it means to be held How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life And you survive This is what it is to be loved And to know that the promise was When everything fell we’d be held
Bridge: If hope is born of suffering If this is only the beginning Can we not wait for one hour watching for our Savior?
(Chorus) This is what it means to be held How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life And you survive This is what it is to be loved And to know that the promise was When everything fell we’d be held
This song I first heard on SEARCH III and now the lyrics really resonant inside me and it seems like the perfect song for th situation. You'll Never Walk Alone
When you walk through a storm, Hold your head up high And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of the storm is a golden sky And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
This song is from the musical "Carousel" and I like it because if I am ever feeling down and feel like I cannot go on, this song gives me hope to face another day.
RIP Colin Fitzpatrick

| Man this is so dead on.... |
[Sep. 13th, 2005|10:13 pm] |
| Your Birthdate: May 28 | Your birth on the 28th day of the month (1 energy) adds a tone of independence and extra energy to your Life Path. The number 1 energy suggest more executive ability and leadership qualities than you path may have indicated. A birthday on the 28th of any month gives greater will power and self-confidence, and very often a rather original approach.
Unlike much of the other 1 energy, this birthday is one that endow with the ability to start a job and continue on until it is finished. You may prefer to use the broad brush, but you can handle details as well. You are sensitive, but your feeling stay somewhat repressed. You have a compelling manner that can be dominating in many situations. |

Unlke most I know who drink, I actually keep my drinking under control and don't do it very often. Today I spend time with family and got a new d player, the special two disc version of the phantom dvd, the family guy soundtrack, and new sunglasses(unlike my ocean city shades, these babies are going to last because they are shrengetti's(probably spelt that wrong) ) |
